On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Petcast, and tap Cancel Subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app doesn't cancel the subscription.

On iPhone, in the Shortcuts app, create a daily Time of Day automation that runs Get Today's Petcast, then Set Wallpaper Photo. The app walks you through it in Settings → Use as wallpaper every day.

On iPhone, turn on Settings → Auto-save new art to Photos. If you give Petcast full Photos access, new art goes into a "Petcast" album: in the Watch app on your iPhone, sync that album and choose a Photos watch face. With add-only access, art is saved to your library instead, so you can add it to a shared or favorites album yourself.

Open Petcast once so it can fetch today's art, then wait a minute. If it's still blank, remove the widget and add it again.

Settings → Household → Invite. They install Petcast, tap "Join my household" and enter your code.

Settings → Household → Leave. You'll start a fresh household of your own.
